Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby Edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley Through the middle of my soul

Artist- Bruce Springsteen
Song of the day- I'm on fire

I had totally forgotten about this song till a few months ago when hearing a wicked bluegrass cover of it at a local farmers market, and then several other covers since then. Though all pretty amazing, there's nothing like the whispery haunting voice of Springsteen with that distinct guitar rolling sound my ears perk up and recognize the moment it starts. It's an excellent wee hour of the morning song for those times of walking at dawn before the rest of the world awakens, which is ware I currently exist. And also reminds me (as if i'd forget) just how magnificent Bruce Springsteen really is. He even knows how to make creepy stalking seem cool in this video! So for those walking in the dark on fire, this one's for you.

Hey little girl is your daddy home
Did he go and leave you all alone
I got a bad desire
Oh-oh-oh, I'm on fire

Tell me now baby is he good to you
Can he do to you the things I don't do
I can take you higher
Oh-oh-oh, I'm On Fire I'm on fire

Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby
Edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
Through the middle of my soul

At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet
And a freight train running through the
Middle of my head
Only you can cool my desire
Oh-oh-oh, I'm on fire
