It's not about hanging on It's making my deal with God If I could call one last truce We've given it all we've got

Not My Favorite: pre test songs
Artist: Brandi Carlile
Song of the day:The Heartache can wait

So I have also noticed throughout the year my song moods tend to fit wherever I am school wise, and I had hoped this would be over once I graduated but with one last impending test I'm not quite through my melodic hurtle yet. I awoke singing this song in my head and not just because it's a fantastic christmas song, but also because my subconscious is doing everything in it's power to stop me from fully panicking. The heartache can wait just might be my current christmas anthem as I try to not give in to my own worst enemy of worry. So here's to those just holding on this holiday season and searching for one more chance to be inspired. This one's for you.

You're talking about leaving

It's right about Christmas time

Thinking about moving on

I think I might die inside

I'm thinking about years gone by

I'm thinking about church at midnight

I'm thinking about letting go

I think that might finally be alright

But this is where we shine

Silver bells and open fire

And songs we used to sing

One more chance to be inspired

Is what I'm offering if love is not enough

Then stay with me because

The heartache can wait

It's not about hanging on

It's making my deal with God

If I could call one last truce

We've given it all we've got

Then I'm gonna catch my breath

And make it a long December

If we've got nothing left

This could be worth remembering

With a smile upon my face

Silver bells and open fire

And songs we used to sing

One more chance to be inspired

Is what I'm offering if love is not enough

Then stay with me because

Silver bells and open fire

And songs we used to sing

One more chance to be inspired

Is what I'm offering if love is not enough

Then stay with me because

The heartache can wait

Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst

Artist- Brandi Carlile
Song of the day- Forever Young

I should be asleep and not writing my blog. I should have been studying and not gone to this concert, but right I'd like to think it was worth it. Cuz sometimes it good to live young and foolish and think it will all work out and your indestructible. So if I regret it tomorrow remind me of this song or your know just send good prayers and test taking vibes my way! For all those foolish and living forever this one's for you.

Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders we're getting in tune
The music's played by the madman

Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever

You see the smile that's on my mouth It's hiding the words that don't come out

Artist- Brandi Carlile
Song of the day- The story

So I just watched this week's "musical" Grey's Anatomy, and like many millions of American viewers, I can't seem to stop talking about how weird it was. And how much it didn't work and how uncomfortable it made people. It made Kids Inc. seem like a musical masterpiece (which it was) but I'm so baffled by it I literally can't stop talking about it to people who don't even watch it and maybe soon strangers...which perhaps was their plan all along, if so well played Grey's. The only admiral go for musical synergy might be found in the end song, which luckily a Tony award winner sang, it actually fit with what was going on and well it's just a damn good song and I must admit the show version did make me realize how extra amazing the lyrics are. So whether you are hit by a truck get neurological damage and start hearing people sing to you, or just need a wailing jolt of musical emotion, this one's for you.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
You do
I was made for you
You see the smile that's on my mouth
It's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what
I've been through like you do
And I was made for you...
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you

I didn't mean to waste your time So I'll fall back in line But I'm warning you we're growing up

Artist- Brandi Carlile
Song of the day- Turpentine

I'm beginning my much needed education of Brandi Carlile before I see her this summer with some very educated megafans that by only after a few songs I can highly see why. And as you've noticed I like almost any song involving not sleeping even though the majority of that time in life and in songs is spent over thinking over analyzing over doubting over wishing and under dreaming, it's amazing how poetic that time can be till you wake back up to normal time and fall back in line again. So for those outside the lines tonight, this one's for you.

I watch you grow away from me in photographs
And memories like spies
And salt betrays my eyes again
I started losing sleep and gaining weight
And wishing I was was ten again
So I could be your friend again

These days we go to waste like wine
That's turned to turpentine
It's six AM and I'm all messed up
I didn't mean to waste your time
So I'll fall back in line
But I'm warning you we're growing up

I heard you found some pretty words to say
You found your little game to play
and there's no one allowed in
Then just when we believe we could be great
Reality it permeates
And conquers from within again

These days we go to waste like wine
That's turned to turpentine
It's six AM and I'm all messed up
I didn't mean to waste your time
So I'll fall back in line
But I'm warning you we're growing up

We're OK I know we're OK
These days we go to waste like wine
That's turned to turpentine
It's six AM and I'm all messed up
I didn't maen to waste your time
So I'll fall back in line
But I'm warning you we're growing up
