I've become quite OCD about listening to City and Colour at least once a day. I don't know if it helps or hurts my study habits but I like to think his voice and soothing melodies keeps me a bit emotionally stable and that the fact he is covered in tattoos keeps me a bit bad ass at the same time. It really is the perfect combination. This song especially perfection mostly because I basically can't escape this exact feeling and perhaps I think if i played it over enough times I'll finally feel rested. But beginning 12 hour shifts including nights i think perhaps this might not be the case. So I'll just keep playing it to keep getting me through the day. My newest pet peeve after doing these Lolla blogs is discovering a new fantastic band that I know I will be missing at Lolla cuz I'm seeing another band I've been dying to hear. Alas, if you are not me you should most definitely stop and check out City and Colour. I've been listening to him for about 10min now and I can't get enough. He has one of those voices that stops you dead in your tracks. It's a simple guy and guitar but also perhaps my most favorite type of music. Stripped down to one voice and one instrument, it's amazing to see what one person is capable to make you feel with just these two things. What makes a man capable of knocking you off course with just a voice and a strum? well listen to this and you might know.
