So tomorrow's quiz / all of today's studying was devoted to major depression, bipolar, and suicide which doesn't quite leave one in a great mood. Studying it did make me realize how important it is to have a support system though and how easy it is to isolate ourselves. Though I love getting to know people I used to hate sharing anything about myself, still kinda do. It seemed safer, not having to risk revealing just how vulnerable you really are or not as cool as you try oh so hard to be, or not as put together as you might seem. If you build these safe walls no one could get in so no one would turn their back and leave too. But we are built for community, it's in our very beings. The need for each other. The most love I've ever felt in my life is when I'm being surrounded by a community of people who took that time to know me, to break down my walls or wait them out, to really see me at my highs and lows and love me just the same and to still need me as much as I needed them. I hope you find your community, cuz I promise you there's people out there who can't wait to love everything about you. That want to know you if you let them.
