Human kindness is overflowing

Artist- Bette Midler
Song of the day- I think it's going to rain today

I was staring out the library window earlier as I tried to get my brain to understand cardiomyopathy and was looking at all the grey in the sky. This song immediately popped into my brain instead of medical jargon and refused to go away. So I decided to look it up and get more depressed by watching clips from the movie "beaches"only to discover that Bette Midler sings this song as Barbara Hershey sits in a library reading about her new found disease that I never bothered to pay attention to before....cardiomyopathy. This freaked me out so much that I took it as a sign that this MUST be today's song (and not perhaps the obvious sign that I should be studying and not on youtube). So thanks "beaches" for making me never forget cardiomyopathy or how big Bette Midler's red hair was in the 80s. Though I am still perplexed that a song whose chorus is "human kindness is overflowing" can still be SO depressing?! Either way, here's to serendipitous moments that give you goosebumps and lead you down the right path.

Broken windows and empty hallways,
a pale dead moon in a sky streaked with grey.
Human kindness is overflowing,
and I think it's gonna rain today.

Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles,
the frozen smiles to chase love away.
Human kindness is overflowing,
and I think it's gonna rain today.

Lonely, lonely.
Tin can at my feet,
I think I'll kick it down the street.
That's the way to treat a friend.

Bright before me the signs implore me:
Help the needy and show them the way.
Human kindness is overflowing,
and I think it's gonna rain today.

Lonely, so lonely.
Tin can at my feet,
I think I'll kick it down the street.
That's the way to treat a friend.

Bright before me the signs implore me:
Help the needy and show them the way.
Human kindness is overflowing,
and I think it's gonna rain today.
