My heart warned me this time But I need to believe you, so I do, just for tonight

Artist- Alison Krauss
Song of the day- Sleep On

It's the first night in a while I can actually rest my brain without the worry of getting up early in order to frantically stay on top of things. I am utterly exhausted, was given free eye cream from a pitying makeup lady because my restlessness is THAT obvious. And here I am sleepy yet awake again. Which I think means it's time for another rendition of my favorite sleep songs. This isn't actually a nice calming song to sleep to but perhaps it's my issue with sleeping that makes me obsessed with songs pertaining to sleep. And with the new Alison Krauss Album soon at hand it reminded me of one of my most favorite and less known tunes about a broken heart that can only express her feelings when others are unconscious. True Krauss's voice can emotionally affect me more than just about anything but the way she sings this song in particular always got to me. So much that I needed to share it, even if it meant the only way to was through this really ugly sunflower depiction that if I look at it too long starts to freak me out. So feel free to close your eyes and enjoy another non sleeper.

Could your heart ever be mine?
Your arms hold me so close to you all through the night
Your eyes gaze into mine
Sayin' I should believe you, I always do, I don't know why

Cause you taught me a lesson the hard way one time
Told me you loved me but then changed your mind
I never told no one how I hurt down inside until now

Sleep on

Could your heart ever be mine?
My arms hold you so close to me all through the night
My heart warned me this time
But I need to believe you, so I do, just for tonight

But you taught me a lesson the hard way one time
Promised to love me but then changed your mind
I never told no one how I hurt down inside until now
Sleep on
