I think if one of my favorite directors, Wes Anderson, had a band it would be Noah and the Whale. There are similar styling, not just about the look of the band but also the sound that is quirky, a bit off center, a tad unusual, and pretty much how I think the inside of my mind looks. It's a perhaps innocent, perhaps naive, perhaps simplistic outlook on life that mixed with a ton of idiosyncrasies make up an odd outlook on life. Today's song is one of my favorites and I hope they play it live. When you strip down on the complications of love and relationships and emotions and rambling thoughts and selfishness. Love can be as simple as this song and I think when I get lost in all the complexities of love I need to sometimes go back and look at the stripped down version.
