There'll be good times again for me and you

Artist- Carol King
Song of the day- It's too late

So my psych patient today sang to me many many songs to my delight. But this Carol King one stuck with me and I don't think I knew why till I re-listened to the whole thing again. Being sung from that place where you have already been broken, know it, know what happened wasn't good, that you tried to make it but you couldn't, is quite profound when sung by someone on unit. I'd maybe stay sad about this but it was sung with such joy that it's hard to be too upset, especially with the amazingly written last verse. So here's to being taught lessons by people you try to help. Let them help you back, it's never too late.

Stayed in bed all morning just to pass the time
There's something wrong here
There can be no denying
One of us is changing
Or maybe we've just stopped trying

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

It used to be so easy living here with you
You were light and breezy
And I knew just what to do
Now you look so unhappy
And I feel like a fool

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died
and I can't hide it
And I just can't fake it

There'll be good times again for me and you
But we just can't stay together
Don't you feel it too
Still I'm glad for what we had
And how I once loved you

But it's too late baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

Don't you know that I...
I just can't fake it
Oh it's too late my baby
Too late my baby
You know
It's too late my baby
