don't you kiss me once or twice Then say it's very nice

Artist- Elvis Presley
Song of the day- Little Sister

I heard the first ever cover of this tonight in a tiny bar in south Chicago sung by some elderly cowboys in matching outfits and perhaps tassles. I nearly leaped off my bar stool for it is maybe my favorite Elvis song of all time, and coming from a pretty hardcore Elvis fan when I was a child, that says a lot. I mostly enjoyed it cuz being a little sister and having Elvis sing about it was a pretty big deal...however when I kept listening to the lyrics I found it both kind of disturbing and not very nice that the whole song he compares her to her sister. Yet somehow it's catchy enough that this little sister's is forgiving. But I'm pretty forgiving to most things when it comes to Elvis, but with those side burns how can you naught be. So to all the little sister's out there and to the big one's whose footsteps we follow in (hopefully not the same as this song), this one's for you.

Well, I dated your big sister
And took her to a show
I went for some candy
Along came Jim Dandy
And they snuck right out of the door

Ev'ry time I see your sister
Well she's got somebody new
She's mean and she's evil
Like that old Boll Weevil
Guess I'll try my luck with you

Well, I used to pull your pigtails
And pinch your turned-up nose
But you been a growin'
And baby, it's been showin'
From your head down to your toes

Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you kiss me once or twice
Then say it's very nice
And then you run

Little sister, don't you
Do what your big sister done
