Song of the day- So Sweet
How could I not look into a band whose name is Nurses? The moment I saw they existed I immediately second guessed my career move as a nurse, and thought maybe I should have just joined a band called nurses especially if it meant I could play guitar standing knee deep in a pond witch hipster bandmates and quirky instruments. Now that sounds like my kind of nursing. They have a most interesting sound, much do to the leads vocals and creative use of basic instruments. So Sweet off their soon to be new album was the first song of theirs I heard and it immediately caught my attention. More than the sound, I feel like lately I am just trying to understand life, what I'm supposed to do with it, classes, school, working with people, helping people, even basic conversations with people. I'm just trying to understand, most probably over thinking everything like I do, what it all really means and why. I had a most excellent and intense conversation the other day with my friend who just returned from a 6 month round the world trip. She said one of the many things she learned about life and herself is how important the people in our lives were and how she didn't want to waste time with the small talk anymore but to really connect and invest in her friends lives and discover who they really are while having fun and enjoying life with them. It seems maybe a basic idea but one I think no one ever does or necessarily has time for anymore, but I think it is the "so sweet" aspect of life, in the trying to understand each other. So here's to finding the sweet in those around you today, the real sweet deep down.
