Streetwalker knows how to strut right She knows the truth

Artist- Delta Spirit
Song of the day- Streetwalker

Speaking of songs that make you think, please allow me to hop up on my soap box for just a quick blog...Delta Spirit was a band I fell in love with during my music reviewing days, which also was the same time I started getting interested in social justice and contemplating changing my career because I was learning things about the world that when I was younger I thought couldn't be true. People couldn't be suffering this much, enslaved still, in America, the world couldn't be this awful. The main thing that shook me to the core was sex trafficking. The brutality, the fact that it was happening right in the city i lived in along with all over the world, the amount of money it made and that like me, a lot people had no idea it was happening. To know this stuff existed and to not help people seemed absurd, seemed like I had no right calling myself a christian if i ignored it, made my silly existence and dreams of music writing fame and film production not matter. And i'm not belittling any careers for it all has it's place. And it's not like I'm saving lives on a daily basis and changing the world, I'm far less than what I should be doing. But it was that stirring that drove me to the direction my life is in now. And I think that boiling of emotion for your fellow man ignites in this song for this specific subject matter magnificently well by Delta Spirit. It's the what makes you so different from them? Why can't god set them free? What if he sent us to set them free type of feeling wrapped up in one song. Beautiful. So perhaps career changes and caped crusade adventures isn't the answer for you, but it is amazing what passion for helping can drive you to do. And if you're looking for a little passion stirring, I suggest checking out this band.

Streetwalker knows how to strut right
She knows the truth
Bad boys walking through the corridor
God knows what they're gonna do.

Darkness paraded across the headlines:
'Little girl stolen from her bedroom,'
Homeless, beat to death, or put out
Hopeless... greedy and cruel.

Oh why can't I feel for you?
My heart is so black to you--
Oh--

Her head was spinning like a hurricane,
Tina was singing her name
Old men like to rape her in the red light
She's too young and numb to complain

Little boy bought at the age of six,
Down the street he's wearing a dress
Look at his face, you won't see no innocence
He's got so much experience

Oh why can't I feel for you?
They lie, what can I do?

Oh Love, set me free!
Set me free!
Come on and set me free!

Oh Lord, set me free!
Set me free!
Come on and set me free!

Underground... the German Casanova
Underground... The Panamanian Queen
He whispers, "Down here, the law will never find you.
Down here I am your God and King"

It's a sin to sit and just do nothing,
There's a special place in hell for me
Oh God I just gotta do something
I swear to God this is happening--

Oh Love, set me free!
Set me free!
Come on and set me free!

Oh Lord, set me free!
Set me free!
Oh, it could have been me.

Oh Lord, set them free!
Set them free!
It could have been me.
