One would probably assume my most fav Cyndi Lauper song of all time is no pun intended, time after time. However when she hits the chorus of this song every time I hear it I think, nope this is the one, this is why Cyndi Lauper is a genius. And it wasn't till probably a decade ago when (like I've said before) I heard a cover of Idina Menzel singing today's song on a secret bootleg tape I found at the height of my Wicked obsession that I really understood what a powerhouse song this is, cuz that's what Menzel does to songs (also someone re find that bootleg for me and please put that cover on youtube immediately). But I digress.

This song is the only kind of heightened cheesy emotion you can have in the middle of the night when you can say things like "asleep in your eyes is enough" and I won't want to vomit and reference random cats outside and I think it's poetry. It's the 80s, it's keyboard magic at it's finest, it's neon hair exuding everything it should. It's pretty much exactly what we all need in our lives, so you're welcome.
