Before I knew who Bette Davis was, I knew this song. And singing along as a 6 year old I knew this lady with eyes had all the characteristics of a cool ass woman. When I finally saw "All about Eve"(Stop what you are doing now and watch it), I realized this song had not lied to me at all, Bette Davis was in fact all of those things and a cool ass woman. Watching old Hitchcock classics with my dad I realized other beauties of her day did indeed have style and grace and reasons for being classic beauties and eventual princesses, but totally unrelatable to me and my not so classic beauty or royal future on my horizon. But wit I could grasp, wit seemed appealing, wit seemed empowering, wit I could work with. So to all those with Bette Davis Eyes, this one's for you.
